Östra Ängsskolan is an adapted primary school for grades F-9. Currently, there are about 60 students distributed across seven groups in the school and an after-school program. The students study both subjects and subject areas according to the adapted school's curriculum.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a special education teacher with a focus on ID (intellectual disability) to work at our adapted primary school with a focus on subject areas. The main part of the position involves teaching and tasks related to teaching. Together with a colleague, you will have overall responsibility for planning and implementing the education of a class consisting of approximately 12 students.

You will be part of a team consisting of special education teachers and teaching assistants at our adapted primary school, working together for each student's best education. In your role, you will have significant responsibility in contacts with guardians. You will work across class boundaries, and collegial collaboration is a given. The teaching assistants working in the class are co-teaching, which means you will also lead them in their work with the students. The focus is on creating the best possible conditions for each student's learning and development!

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed teacher with further education as a special education teacher with a focus on ID (intellectual disability). You have experience working as a special education teacher with students with ID, extensive autism, and ADHD. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and actively work with guidance and stimulation as well as extra adaptations and special support. As a person, you are engaged and trustworthy with a strong interest in student health and school development. You have an open and creative approach and adapt your work to the needs of the students.

The assignment is characterized by close collaboration with colleagues and guardians. It is important that you find it very easy to collaborate. You are used to working in a low-arousal manner with clear pedagogical tools. Your experience in leading teaching assistants in their work with students is an asset. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills that allow you to independently lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment for our students throughout the day. You need to have knowledge of AAC. It is important that you have the ability to work independently but also gain energy from collaborating with others. You are a natural leader who can support and encourage others and adapt easily to changes. You believe in a methodical and organized approach and structure your work effectively. You have good computer skills and experience using digital tools in your teaching.
